NOB- Rangareddy District: The newly elected Sarpanches of Gram Panchayats in Telangana state will soon assume their responsibilities. According to a gazette notification recently issued by the State Panchayat Raj Department, the new Sarpanches will take their oath of office on the 20^th of December 2025. This date has been finalized for all those who won in the three phases of elections to officially assume office on the same day. This decision is expected to usher in a new era in local governance across the state. From December 20^th 2025, new governing bodies will officially take charge in all 12,700 Gram Panchayats across the state. This change in the democratic process at the village level is expected to give new impetus to village development and the resolution of local problems. Immediately after assuming office, the new Sarpanches and governing bodies are likely to focus on the pending development works in their respective villages. After the new governing bodies take charge, the state government will request the central government to release the pending funds for the Gram Panchayats.
