NOB- Haryana news: The National Medical Commission (NMC) has clarified that doctor’s prescriptions must be clear and legible. It has issued orders to set up a special sub-committee in every medical college to monitor the implementation of these regulations. In a recently released statement, it stated that this decision was taken in the wake of a judgment given by the Punjab and Haryana High Court. The NMC reminded that the High Court, in its judgment, stated that a clear prescription is an integral part of the people’s right to health under Article 21 of the Constitution. In this context, it suggested setting up a sub-committee under the Drugs and Therapeutics Committee (DTC) in every medical college. This committee will regularly review prescriptions, examine the methods used by doctors in writing prescriptions, identify violations of the regulations, and recommend necessary measures to correct them.
