NOB – Mumbai news: A Mumbai special court has issued a non-bailable warrant against businessman Vijay Mallya, who is on the run after cgeating on the banks. CBI Special Court Judge Naik Nimbalkar issued this warrant on June 29th 2024 in the Rs.180 crore loan evasion case related to Indian Overseas Bank. The judge stated that the evidence submitted by the CBI in the loan evasion case has been taken into consideration and the non-bailable warrant has been issued as his status is a ‘fugitive’.CBI is investigating the case. The CBI says that the promoter of the now defunct Kingfisher Airlines company deliberately evaded the loan and caused a loss of more than Rs. 180 crore to the state-owned bank. Meanwhile, between 2007 and 2012, Kingfisher Airlines received loans from the Indian Overseas Bank. But no refund. The CBI has registered a case of fraud. It is known that the Enforcement Directorate has announced that Vijay Mallya is absconding in money laundering cases. Vijay Mallya is currently staying in London.
