NOB- Hyderabad news: On credible information, Gopalapuram Police along with Task Force have nabbed two notorious robbery offenders who were involved in recent robbery case involving cell phone snatching by using deadly weapons.

Seized evidence:

•          One Honda Activa (Used in commission of Offence)

•          One Large dagger with sharp edge measuring total blade length – 12 inches and handgrip – 4 inches,

•          One Mobile Phone (Crime Property Cr. No. 209/2024)

•          Two Mobile Phones

•          One Small Dagger

•          One Honda Activa (Crime Property of Cr. No. 221/2024)

The accused person A-1.Masood Ur Rahman was previously involved in:

•          Cr. No. 385/2014 U/s 379 IPC of Nacharam PS, Cyberabad

•          Cr. No. 307/2020 U/s 379 IPC of Mailardevpally PS, Cyberabad

•          Cr. No. 308/2020 U/s 394 IPC of Mailardevpally PS, Cyberabad

A1, a habitual offender dropped out of school at tenth standard and worked as a welder and cab driver. Unable to meet his extravagant expenses with his earnings, A1 turned to committing robberies and thefts for quick money. He was previously arrested by Nacharam & Mailardevapally Police in similar cases. In the present case, A1 was visiting his aunt’s house in Musheerabad. During the night of 19/20th June 2024, he asked A2 to join him in committing robbery. A1 carried a large dagger while A2 had a small one, intending to intimidate or harm anyone who resisted. They rode an Activa two-wheeler vehicle to scout the city roads with A1 driving and A2 as a pillion rider.

While proceeding towards Chaderghat, at around 00:30 AM they noticed one Activa vehicle was parked near Swagath Bar, Malakpet. A1 committed theft of the said vehicle with the help of A2 and sped away from the spot. They parked the stolen two wheeler Activa vehicle at Star Hotel, Bholakpur, Musheerabad for later disposal which is near to the house of A2. (Pertains to Cr No 221/2024 U/s 379 IPC of PS Chaderghat, Hyderabad). From there they headed towards Secunderabad at around 02:30 AM, where they spotted one person at near Ganesh temple heading towards the railway station. A2 tried to rob his mobile phone, and when he resisted, A1 also got off the vehicle. Both threatened him with their daggers and robbed his mobile phone and they fled away towards Clock Tower and also brandishing their daggers to the public to terrorize them.

Hearing the victim’s cries for help, an Anti-Snatching team of two constables began chasing the offenders. A1 and A2 brandished their daggers at the Police Team, threatening to kill them if chased. They attempted to snatch another Pedestrian’s mobile phone near Bata showroom but abandoned the effort upon realizing they were closely chased, speeding towards City Light Hotel. At City Light Hotel, fearing the offenders posed a threat of harm to the public, one of the constables fired at the offenders’ two-wheeler aiming for the tire. The bullet struck A1’s right leg calf, but they continued to flee. Another round was fired but failed to discharge. The offenders managed to escape. Special investigative teams identified and nabbed the accused within 48 hours. The arrest was made under the supervision of P Ashok, Addl.
