NOB-Telangana news: The issue of 42 percent BC reservation has become a hot topic in Telangana. The 42 percent reservation bill for BCs is already pending with the Governor. However Revanth Reddy government has released the GO for BC reservations. A petition has been filed in the Telangana High Court on this. The bench that heard the matter made key comments in this regard. While the BC bill is pending with the Governor, how can you release the GO and move forward? It also clarified that it is not right to release the GO when the bill is pending with the Governor and that there is a provision that reservations should not exceed 50 percent. The High Court bench asked the Advocate General several questions on reservations. The Telangana Advocate General requested the High Court to hear their arguments on this after the Dussehra vacations. They said to give the election notification till then. The judge said that they will listen to you when you say it in full. The Advocate General told them that they will ask the Telangana government about this. In this order the High Court questioned the Election Commission when the notification will be given. To this, the Election Commission told the court that they are ready for the notification. They told the court that they will give the notification at any moment. On the other hand even if the notification is received, the High Court gave clarity that these petitions will be heard on the merits. After hearing the arguments from both sides, the High Court adjourned the hearing to October 8th 2025.
