With this, Delhi is once again going to have a woman CM. Rekha Gupta has experience of working as the Mayor of Delhi. She was elected as the President of Delhi University twice. With this, Delhi is once again going to have a woman CM. Rekha Gupta has experience of working as the Mayor of Delhi. She was elected as the President of Delhi University twice. She served as a councilor and later as the Mayor from Delhi Pithampura. In the Bharatiya Janata Party Legislative Party meeting, Rekha Gupta was finalised for the post of Chief Minister and Pravesh Verma for the post of Deputy Chief Minister. Also, Vijendra Gupta will be appointed as the Assembly Speaker. Rekha Gupta has no previous experience as an MLA or MP. But she has a long experience in politics. She started her political career as a student leader. She was a mentor to the people of Pithampura and Shalimar Bagh. She worked a lot for the development of parks locally. She was a pioneer in social service programs. Rekha Gupta’s family’s Sangh background came in handy for her. She played an active role in ABVP during her student days and later joined the BJP. She was elected as a councilor of Pithampura and as a corporator from Shalimar Bagh-B. She is a leader who is always accessible to the local people. She is one of the leaders who makes the party’s voice heard loudly in the Delhi region. She contested as an MLA candidate from the BJP in the 2015 and 2020 elections from the Shalimar Bagh assembly constituency and lost to her nearest rival Bandana Kumari of the AAP. In 2025, she defeated Bandana Kumari from the same constituency by a margin of over 29,000 votes. Rekhagupta has held many responsibilities in the BJP. She served as the General Secretary of the Delhi unit of the BJP. Regardless of her positions, she is constantly among the people and works to solve their problems. One of the reasons why the BJP chose her as the CM is that she is always there for them.
