NOB_ Scientific facts of Sri Ram Navami

NOB- Special: Sri Rama Navami is celebrated for two reasons, as per Ramayana, Sri Rama was born on ninth day of Chaitra masam which comes exactly after nine days of the Ugadi festival, this is the  day when the summer heat starts increasing marking the seasonal change. In order to beat the summer heat and keep ourselves from heat related bodily ailments, there is drink called ‘Panakam’ made of black pepper powder, cardamom powder and jaggery mixed in required quantity in water. As per Ayurveda, this drink cools the body and calms mind when outside temperatures are raising.

As Sanatana Dharma, a way of life leading with culture says useful things and makes sure to put them in practice, has beautifully blended the culture of celebrating Sri Rama’s birth day by offering this drink to Him and taking back as Prasadam, so that this medicated formula will be taken with devotion knowingly or unknowingly causing good to human health. And as it is made as an offering to Sri Rama on this day, the tradition will be continued in a divine way for future generations, as the present generation believes in scientific reasons first and Sanatana Dharma later.
