NOB- Suryapet news: Suryapet District SP Rahul Hegde IPS asked the people and the media to cooperate in the implementation of the rules for the Lok Sabha elections to be held in the month of May 2024. He said that the police department is ready to implement the model code of conduct. It has been revealed that we are moving forward with inclusive coordination with other departments. He said that cash, gold and silver worth two crores of rupees have been seized so far and those with all kinds of permits are being released immediately. Moreover, it was revealed that a meeting was held with the officials of the inter-state and inter-district border districts to discuss the matters to be implemented in the election rules, check posts were set up and FST and SST teams kept a constant vigil. It is requested not to propagate and transmit false information in newspapers, electronic media, social media, WhatsApp. He said that strict action will be taken if people and systems are posted with vulgar language on social media by showing old information as new, group admins should take care of posts on social media and if false information is spread on WhatsApp, group admins will be held responsible. He warned that there will be constant police surveillance on the media and social media and criminal action will be taken against those who engage in false campaigns, broadcasts, personal insults and act against the election rules in a way that incites hatred. We are also running a media center under the chairmanship of the District Election Officer and Collector, and we have also started surveillance on paid articles. The SP suggested that if there is any occasion to publish or broadcast any information in print or electronic media, it would be good to get an explanation from the concerned authorities on the necessary matters. He also appealed to them not to release false information in haste and act against the election rules.
