
NOB- Telangana news: The Central Government, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, is committed to the development of Telangana in all sectors. Since 2014, it has been allocating a large amount of funds to the state for industrial and infrastructure development. In this context, the Center has sanctioned three key world-class research institutions for Telangana.
1. Global Center of Excellence on Millets: To enhance the research being done at ICAR – Indian Institute of Millets Research, Hyderabad, thereby promoting the importance of small grains in food and nutritional security, and providing training to Telangana farmers in millet cultivation.
2. Kavach Center of Excellence: To be based in Secunderabad, its main objective is to develop indigenous technology “Kavach” for the safety of the country’s railways.
3. National Skill Training Institute (NSTI): The main objective of the National Skill Training Institute (NSTI) is to modernize the Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) based in Hyderabad and provide industry-relevant skill training and vocational education to the youth of Telangana.
These institutions will further promote innovation and research. Apart from supporting aspiring entrepreneurs, they will also contribute to the economic growth of the Telangana state.
