
NOB-Uttar Pradesh news: A tragic incident took place in Meerut, UP. Three people were killed in the collapsed three-storey building, and others were trapped under the rubble. The incident took place on 14.09.2024 night in densely populated Zakir Colony in Meerut district center. On receiving the information, teams of National Disaster Response Force, NDRF and State Disaster Response Force SDRF reached the spot and started rescue operations. Even though it was raining in the area, rescue operations continued and many people were saved. However, three people died in this accident and six others are believed to be trapped under the debris. The process of removing the debris is going on to save them. Speaking on this incident, District Collector Deepak Meena said that 14 people were trapped under the debris at the time of the accident. He said that eight people trapped under the rubble were safely brought out by the rescue teams after rescue operations were started immediately. Deepak Meena said that while three lives were lost in this accident, NDRF and SDRF units are continuing rescue operations for six others.
