NOB-Hyderabad news: A passenger was caught by the customs officials while transporting gold illegally at the Shamshabad airport. Customs officials seized 350 grams of gold worth Rs.21 lakh from her.

A woman who had rhodium coated the gold was cleverly moving the gold when customs officials thwarted her efforts. Rhodium coating was added to hair clips, glasses, and other jewelry and the officers who suspected that they were wearing the jewelry found the original piece of jewelry. Glasses and other jewelry are identified as 18 carats and 22 carats.

Hyderabad Customs officials said that the gold was transported from Sharjah to Hyderabad in an Indigo flight by the Pax Profiling and Surveillance Department. Hyderabad GST Customs Zone posted on the X (formerly Twitter) account. Customs officials said that the amount of this gold will be 397 grams and its cost will be around Rs.21 lakhs.
