NOB- USA news: The US President Donald Trump’s administration, which has created chaos in the world through its tariff war, has exempted smartphones, computers and other electronic goods from the Trump tariff. The move will reduce the cost impact of many popular high-tech products on American consumers. The US Customs and Border Protection Office issued a notice on 11.04.2025 night that exempted many electronic goods, including smartphones and their components, from China, which currently has an additional tariff of 145 percent. At the same time, the baseline 10 percent tariff imposed on semiconductors, mostly on American trading partners, is also exempted from the additional tariff of 125 percent imposed on China. The exemption reduces the scope of the 10 percent universal tariffs that President Trump announced earlier in 2025 April month, and the additional tax imposed on goods from China.
