NOB- Chandanagar news: Dowry harassment has shaken another family under the Chandanagar police station limits of Hyderabad city. The incident of 29-year-old married woman J. Kavya alias Manasa committing suicide has created a stir. According to the information of the deceased’s family members, Kavya was married to Raju three years ago. They allege that within a short period of marriage, her husband Raju started pressuring her for additional dowry. They also allege that she was not having children and tortured her mentally and physically. Unable to bear this harassment, Kavya called her husband on August 17th 2025 and said her last words and committed suicide by hanging herself from a fan with a chunni at home. This incident has caused great sorrow in the family. The deceased’s sister Sumalatha said that the continuous harassment took the life of my sister. She expressed her grief that my sister’s husband and in-laws were the reason for this atrocity. Chandanagar police have registered a case and started an investigation into the incident. The dowry harassment has once again claimed the life of a woman, causing local outrage.
