NOB- Chilakaluripet news: The Yedlapadu police received information at around 9 am on June 25, 2025, that an unidentified body of a person was burning in a canal in Yedlapadu mandal. The police reached the spot, registered a case and started an investigation. As part of the investigation, the body was identified as a man named Gopi (32). It is known that Gopi used to work as a software engineer in the past and later entered the film industry and made short films and web series under the banner ‘Celestian Creations’. He also started making a web series called ‘Mission Mangaladri’. Gopi was introduced to a man named Imran through his sister Afrin. Afrin and Gopi were close. Also, Gopi harassed Imran about the girl he loved, which led to a rift between the two. For this reason, Imran hatched a plan to kill Gopi and get his money. For this, he sought the help of his friends Sheikh Riyaz and Khaja Mohiddin. On June 24, 2025, at around 2 pm, Gopi was called to come to Imran’s rented room in Guntur. There, as per the plan, the three of them hit Gopi on the head with a rod. After that, they tied a rope around his neck and strangled him to death. After the murder, they wrapped the body in a car cover, a plastic cover and tied it with a rope, put Gopi in the trunk of his car and came to Chilakaluripet. There, they bought petrol from a petrol pump and set Gopi’s body on fire in a cement canal beside the deserted service road at Yedlapadu on the way to Guntur. Arrest of the accused although there was no evidence in this case, on the orders of Palnadu District SP Krishna Rao, an investigation was started under the supervision of Additional SP under the supervision of Chilakaluripet Rural Circle Inspector B. Subbanayudu. With the help of technical evidence, the three accused were arrested at NSL Textiles, Yedlapadu Mandal, on September 22, 2025 at 6.45 pm. The rod used for the murder, Gopi’s VIVO phone, ATM cards, Rs. 12,000 in cash, as well as the vehicle used by the accused were seized from the accused. The District SP congratulated Chilakaluripet Rural CI B. Subbanayadu, who cleverly cracked the case, along with SI T. Siva Ramakrishna, ASI Subbarao, ASI Rosibabu, HC Sridhar, HC Devaraj, PCs Irmiya, Rajesh, Ratna Kishore, HGs Samba, Madhubabu, and CDR Wing PC V. Srinivasa Rao, who assisted in the investigation of the case.
