NOB-Hyderabad news: YSRTP chief YS Sharmi was arrested by the police on 18.08.2023. YSRTP chief YS Sharmila announced on 17.08.2023 that she will go on a Gajwel tour. The villagers of Teegul Gajwel constituency sent a petition to Sharmila to this effect. So she decided to go to Teegul village. But in the background of Sharmila Gajwel’s tour, the police put her under house arrest. Meanwhile, the local BRS leaders announced that they would stop Sharmila from Gajwel touring the constituency. Sharmila sent information to the police that she had decided to go to Teegul on the request of the locals that there had been irregularities in the Dalit Bandhu scheme in Teegul village. After being warned that the BRS leaders would block her tour, Sharmila sent information to the police. She asked for security for this tour.
The police felt that if YS Sharmila Gajwel visits, there is a possibility of embarrassing situations. As a result, she was placed under house arrest in Lotus Pond, Hyderabad.
