NOB-Rajahmundry news: On the morning of 11.03.2025 at 04.00 am, while checking vehicles at Kontamuru Underbridge on Airport Road in Kontamuru Village, Rajahmundry Rural Mandal, East Godavari District, on the basis of specific information that a large quantity of ganja was being transported from Rampachodavaram side, 150 kg of ganja was kept in the trunk of a car and an auto acting as a pilot in order to give advance information about the police checks to that car, both the car and the auto, which were fleeing from the police while entering the NH-16 highway from Rampachodavaram side through Airport Road, were caught by Rajanagaram Police Station SI Manohar and his staff and checked. During the said check, 150 kg of ganja, each packet weighing 2 kg, a total of 75 packets were found in the trunk of the car. It is understood that the said ganja is being brought from the AOB agency for business. Therefore, the above five persons were arrested and 150 kg of ganja, the swift dezire car with registration number AP39A3333 and the auto with registration number AP39 TH8737 used for its transportation, and 5 mobile phones belonging to them were seized from them. Further investigation will reveal from whom the said ganja was purchased and to whom it would be sold and they will also be arrested soon. On the orders of East Godavari District SP Narasimha Kishore, under the supervision of North Zone DSP Y. Srikanth, Rajanagaram Inspector SP Veeraiah Goud, SI P.Manohar, and their staff Constables Ramana (PC 1321), Nageswara Rao (PC 1622), and Karimullah Khadar (PC 1369) were congratulated by SP Narasimha Kishore, IPS.
