
NOB-Mumbai news: 16 year old Kamya Karthikeyan from Mumbai has set a world record in mountaineering. Kamya has created history by becoming the youngest girl to climb the seven highest mountains across seven continents.Taking on the challenge of climbing the seven mountains, Kamya has successfully climbed Mount Kilimanjaro (Africa), Mount Elbrus (Europe), Mount Kazia (Australia), Mount Akan (USA), Mount Denali (North America), Mount Everest (Asia), and Mount Vinson (Antarctica).Kamya, who reached Mount Vinson with her father Commander Karthikeyan, completed the Sapta Parva climbing challenge on December 24th 2024. Kamya, a class 12 student at the Navy Children’s School in Mumbai, has been felicitated by the Indian Navy. Kamya has set her next goal of reaching the North Pole and the South Pole.
