NOB- Health news: Zydus Company brings good news to cancer patients.  Zydus Lifesciences Drug Company informed that this medicine which was priced at Rs.72 lakhs is now available for Rs.3 lakhs. Zydus Company said that it has released a generic model of the original medicine as the patent of the original company that manufactured the medicine has expired. 14 lakh people are diagnosed with cancer every year in India. Out of them 2.75 lakh people are suffering from breast, uterus and pancreas cancer. Olaparib is used to treat this. 75 lakhs had to be spent till now for treatment for a year. But the company informed that the same medicine is available for only Rs.3 lakhs.

Rs.100 pill from Tata Institute: Tata Institute has designed a pill to prevent cancer victims from getting cancer a second time. The price of this pill is only 100 rupees the company said. After cancer patients undergo radiation therapy, cancer cells attack healthy cells and turn them into cancer. But taking this pill destroys the cancer cells that are left after the treatment. The Tata company said that this will prevent the patient from getting cancer a second time. The experiment used mice, which were first injected with cancer cells and developed cancer. After radiation treatment to cure cancer, some mice were fed with this pill. Mice that ate the pill did not develop cancer a second time.
