80 houses set on fire due to land dispute

NOB- Bihar news: In Bihar’s Nawada district, rowdies surrounded a Dalit colony and set it on fire. 80 houses in the village were burnt in this burning incident which took place in Krishnanagar village under Mufasil Police Station. An important thing has come to light in this regard. The police said that the attack was related to a land dispute. One side is living here while the other side is claiming this land. But this land belongs to Bihar government. The case is currently being investigated in court. Villagers said that a hundred rowdies suddenly came to the Dalit residence on 18.09.2024. As soon as they entered the colony, the assailants opened fire. The shooting created an atmosphere of terror at the scene. It is reported that the assailants fired about 50 rounds. At this time, the villagers hid here and there to protect themselves. After receiving the information, the local officials reached the spot first. Later, keeping in view the seriousness of the situation, DM and SP also reached the spot. The police took action immediately after the incident and arrested ten people. The police took these actions based on the information received from the villagers. DM Ashutosh Kumar said that this village is on the banks of Krishna Nagar river. A survey was done on the incident. About 30 houses were burnt. Further investigation is underway. Nawada SP Abhinav Dhiman said that the police received information about the incident on 18.09.2024 evening. 40 to 50 houses were burnt. So far no one has been reported dead. It is said that aerial firing was also carried out.A total of ten people, including the alleged prime accused, have been arrested. He said that raids are going on to catch the rest. There is a dispute between the two parties regarding the land. If one side is settled here, the other side has been claiming for a long time. This incident happened only because of them. They also said that the army camp will be here for another two or three days. Even after that, if the situation does not become stable, more forces will descend on the camp.
In this regard, Bihar Government’s Scheduled Castes and Tribes Minister Janak Ram said, “We have received information about the incident in Nawada. In this, the houses of Scheduled Castes were set on fire by the bullies. This is a sad incident. This is very reprehensible. He said that the government will definitely take action against the rowdies. Under this NDA government led by CM Nitish Kumar, the people of weaker sections, Dalit and Mahadalit families are safe. “The government will not let those who dominate them,” he said.
