NOB_Hyderabad: Chief Secretary Sanjay Jaju on Monday conducted a comprehensive review of the Mines and Geology Department at the Telangana Secretariat, as per the directions of Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy.

The CS reviewed the department’s functioning, revenue collection, staff vacancies and promotion issues.

He issued firm instructions to curb illegal sand transportation and illegal mining across the state. Officials were told to identify sensitive areas and carry out continuous inspections and surprise checks with vigilance teams. Immediate action should be taken on complaints and legal action initiated against violators.

To boost state income, he stressed effective utilization of mineral resources and strengthening monitoring through technology to ensure transparency.

The CS also directed officials to expedite the filling of vacant posts and complete promotion procedures as per rules, so that departmental work is not affected due to staff shortage.

Mines Secretary Raghunandan Rao, DG Vigilance & Enforcement D.S. Chauhan, Joint Secretary ITE&C, Director Mines Anudeep and other senior officers attended the meeting.
