Mahabubabad (NOB): District Transport Officer Shankar Naik clarified that there are no pending RC and DL cards at the Mahabubabad RTA office and that the department is working with the slogan “Speedy Dispose, Early Dispatch”.
He said many vehicle owners are visiting the office complaining about non-receipt of cards. Every RC and DL card is being dispatched via Speed Post to the address registered in Aadhaar within 7 working days from the date of the driving test. If not received, owners should first check with the nearest post office and then contact the RTA office.
Time-bound services:
- LLR: Within 1 hour of application
- DL, RC: Home delivery via Speed Post in 7 working days
- Commercial Vehicles (RC, Permit, FC): Same-day delivery
The DTO also made a crucial appeal regarding vehicle sales. He said many people sell their cars but fail to get ownership transfer done, so the vehicle continues to show in the old owner’s name in government records. This is creating problems, especially when applying for pensions.
He advised sellers to personally ensure that ownership transfer is completed in the buyer’s name immediately after sale, otherwise the liability remains with the old owner.
