News of Bharath Ranga Reddy: In a historic decision, the Telangana state government has brought an end to the decades-long wait of the Padmashali community. The government, led by Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, has issued official orders (GO No. 24) allocating two acres of prime government land in Kokapet—a location at the very heart of Hyderabad’s IT corridor—for the construction of the ‘Padmashali Atma Gaurava Bhavan’ (a center for the community’s self-respect and identity). In addition to the land, the government has also sanctioned Rs. 5 crore through the Backward Classes (BC) Welfare Department for the construction of the facility. The official documents pertaining to this land allocation—situated in Kokapet village, Gandipet mandal, Ranga Reddy district—were handed over to representatives of the Padmashali community at the Secretariat by the Minister for BC Welfare, Ponnam Prabhakar, and Government Advisor V. Hanumantha Rao. This allocation is part of a broader initiative, with the government earmarking a total of Rs. 88.50 crore for the construction of ‘Atma Gaurava Bhavans’ for various Backward Classes (BC) communities across the state. This multipurpose ‘Atmagaurava Bhavan’ (Centre for Self-Respect) will serve as an excellent platform for the social, educational, and cultural development of the weavers, youth, students, and women belonging to the Padmasali community. Fulfilling a long-pending demand, the government has allocated land worth several crore rupees along with funds for construction. Leaders of the Padmasali Mahasabha and various other associations have expressed their heartfelt gratitude and joy to Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and Minister Ponnam Prabhakar for this initiative.
