NOB- Andhra Pradesh news: A Telugu man has taken charge as the Chief Secretary of the Assam Government from Andhra as the CS of Assam. IAS officer Ravi Kota from Kotapadu of Santabommali mandal of AP Srikakulam district has taken charge as the 51st CS of Assam State. Belonging to 1993 batch, he is the first doctorate holder to take charge as CS of Assam. Born on April 12th 1966, Ravi Kota earned a gold medal from the Indian Agricultural Research Institute for his PhD. Ravi will act as Additional Special Secretary for Industries, Commerce, Finance Department and Public Sector Undertakings along with Assam CS. He served as the Chief of the Finance Department at the Indian Embassy in Washington DC, USA. It is known that M.G.V.K.Bhanu worked as Special Chief Secretary in Assam Government earlier.
