NOB- West Bengal news: The Supreme Court of the country expressed its anger on Sandeep Ghosh, principal of RG Kar Medical College, Kolkata, saying that if such a bad thing happened, it was suicide. The Supreme Court on 20.08.2024 took up the murder case of a Kolkata trainee doctor as suo motu. CJI Justice D.Y. Chandrachud headed the bench and expressed concern over the incident. “This incident is very scary. The crime was discovered early in the morning. But the principal of the medical college tried to portray it as a case of suicide. Registration of FIR was also delayed. Why the FIR had to be registered at 11.30 pm, 3 hours after the dead body was handed over for cremation at 8.30 pm? What are the hospital authorities and the Kolkata Police doing so far? Why were the parents of the deceased made to wait for 3 hours? What are the police doing when so many people are vandalizing the hospital? Did a group attack the hospital without the knowledge of the police? How did the thugs attack? The Bengal government machinery has failed to arrest the assailant,” the Supreme Court said.
