
NOB- Gadwala news: In the month of January 2025, the Operation Smile-XI team conducted raids and identified 43 child laborers across the district and freed them from work, and 2 cases were registered in this regard, said District SP T. Srinivasa Rao. Speaking on the occasion, the SP said that as part of the Operation Smile program, extensive inspections were conducted in bike shops, grocery shops, hotels, dhabas, restaurants, industries and crop fields in the district from January 1st to 31st 2025, and 43 child laborers were identified and arrested, and 2 cases were registered in connection with the incident of children being used as child labor. He said that among those identified, 11 were girls and 32 were boys, and those identified were handed over to the DCPO. He said that 183 more children who had already dropped out of school were counseled and their parents were re-admitted to school. He advised that strict action will be taken if children are employed in the district and that parents should help ensure a better future for their children. The SP advised that if child laborers are found anywhere in the district, immediately call Dial 100 or 1098 and give them information.
