NOB-Saidabad news: The police have cracked the murder case in which CPI leader Ketawat Chandu Nayak was shot dead with a gun in broad daylight. Five accused have been arrested. One is said to be absconding. The murder was led to by differences in the distribution of money collected from the 13 hundred hutment dwellers at Kuntlur in Hayatnagar mandal and the money collected from the builder. Southeast Zone DPP Chaitanya Kumar revealed that a gang of Rajanna and his followers killed Chandu Nayak on suspicion of financial and extramarital affairs. At a media conference organized on 19.07.2025 evening in the premises of Saidabad Police Station, Southeast Zone Additional DCP Srikanth, Task Force Additional DCP Ande Srinivas, Malakpet and Saidabad Division ACPs Subbarami Reddy and Soma Venkat Reddy made the announcement. Ketawat Chandu Nayak (48), a resident of Chaitanyapuri, is working as a CPI State Council member. On the 15.07.2025, Donthi Rajesh alias Rajanna along with his followers opened fire with a revolver on him while he was coming out from a walk at the Shalivahana Nagar Park in the Moosarambagh division of Malakpet. Nine people formed a gang and poured pepper in Chandu Nayak’s eyes and murdered him. Along with the main accused Rajanna, Edukondalu, Arjun Gnanaprakash, Lingibedi Rambabu, Prashanth, Srinu alias Nagaraju were arrested. They said that pistols and revolvers were seized from them. Malakpet Inspector Naresh, DI Jayashankar, Saidabad Inspector Chandramohan, Anand Kumar participated. Tribal women, followers, family members and relatives of the victim staged a protest at the Saidabad police station demanding justice for the victim’s family. Tension prevailed for some time as they protested in front of the station demanding the arrest of Ravindrachari, Yadi Reddy and some others.
