NOB-Prakasam news: The police responded quickly to the kidnapping incident of a girl studying in 8th standard in Chimakurthi, Prakasam district and safely returned the kidnapped 13-year-old girl to her parents. The 13-year-old girl, who belongs to Muvvavaripalem village in Chimakurthi mandal of Prakasam district, is studying in 8th standard at Vidyanikethan School in Chimakurthi. The girl, who attended the Independence Day celebrations at the school, was coming out of the school at around 12.30 pm when a man, who was previously known to the girl’s father when he was living in Tirupati, tried to kidnap her to collect the arrears due to the girl’s father. He tried to take her on his bike and flee towards Tirupati after telling her we will go home and as he is coming first time to their house should not go with empty hands and should take sweets, he took her away from home. On the way, he spoke to the father on the phone and threatened that if he gave him money, he would leave the child, or else he would kill her. As per the information given by the parents at the Chimakurthi Police Station, the Chimakurthi Police informed the higher authorities and District SP A.R. Damodar IPS immediately stepped into the fray. The District SP took this kidnapping seriously and immediately formed special teams. All the check posts in the district and on the borders, as well as the neighboring Nellore district police, have been alerted and orders have been issued to thoroughly check every vehicle. With the help of technology and CCTV cameras, the bike number and their movements have been identified. Special teams have been deployed to protect the girl and the girl was also rescued safely from the accused R. Easwar Reddy (33) of Tirupati area near Kavali. The complainant has stated that he was previously in Tirupati and that the accused was an acquaintance near the complainant’s house and that there were financial transactions between them. According to this scheme, to get money from the complainant, he kidnapped the girl and threatened that he would release his child only if he gave the money, otherwise he would kill her. At present, a case has been registered against the accused and the investigation is ongoing. In the wake of this incident, every parent and educational institution needs to be more vigilant about the safety of children. Children should be careful while coming and going to schools. Also, children should be taught to stay away from unknown people when they talk and not to get into their vehicles. They should be encouraged to immediately inform the police or their parents if they have any doubts about their safety. All educational institutions should be advised to install CCTV cameras. When their child was abducted, when they were worried and scared, the parents said that the District SP A.R. Damodar, IPS, personally called them and assured them that they would not be afraid, that they would bring their child back safely. The parents said that after hearing those words, they were able to be somewhat braver, and that the special initiative and efforts shown by this District SP in the state were invaluable. They expressed their heartfelt congratulations to the police department for saving their child and also thanked the government for its swift response. The District SP specially congratulated Ongole DSP Srinivasa Rao, Cheemakurthi CI Subba Rao, Cheemakurthi SI Krishnaiah, Prakasam and Nellore district police officers and staff for their outstanding efforts in identifying the girl.
