
NOB- Munugala news: In June 2025, BSNL officials filed a complaint at Nadigudem and Munagala police stations regarding the theft of frequency cables related to BSNL towers under the jurisdiction of Nadigudem and Munagala police stations. A case has been registered at Nadigudem and Munagala police stations and an investigation is underway under the supervision of the Munagala Circle Inspector. They are burning the damaged cables and selling the copper contained in them to earn money. In this regard, the people of the surrounding villages of Nadigudem and Munagala have been alerted and surveillance has been maintained with technical means. People have been alerted to inform the police if anyone is suspiciously moving near BSNL towers, transformers, or canals, whether new people or suspicious people. The case is under investigation. On 18.08.2025, at around 8.00 am, on the basis of reliable information received by Praveen Kumar of Munagala Police Station, he along with his staff went to Aakupamula village and interrogated two persons who were suspiciously driving a car near the BNSL tower. They were identified as Mahankali Srinath and Budupula Vamsi Krishna, who were residing in Balajinagar, Annapureddy Mandal, Bhadradri Kothagudem District, and also stated that they had committed thefts using cutters and hacksaw blades in (9) BSNL towers under the jurisdiction of Munagala, Kodada Town, Haliya, Chilukuru, Nelakondapalli, Huzurnagar, Nadigudem, Miryalaguda II Town, and Garidepalli Police Stations for a period of about (4) months. The stolen cables are then burned near the place of theft, the copper wire is removed from it, put in bags and taken to Hyderabad, where they are sold to unknown persons related to the factory in Jeedimetla and Patancheruvu area and the money is shared for their luxuries. In this way (9) In relation to the thefts, a total of Rs. 3,25,000/- worth of BSNL Tower cable (Government property) was stolen from them, Rs. 2,75,000/- cash, 270 meters of RF Cable, the case property related to Nadigudem Police Station, the Ford car used for the thefts, cutter, hacksaw blade, and the Ford Figo Car No. AP 20-AL-7002 used for the thefts were recovered from the accused. Shravan Kumar, a resident of Balajinagar, Kodad town, has previous experience of working in BSNL Towers and has 4 theft cases against him in the past. A1 Srinath and A2 Vamsi Krishna will be remanded on 18.08.2025. Munagala CI Ramakrishna Reddy, SI Praveen Kumar, staff Kondalu and M. Rama Rao, who worked exceptionally hard in uncovering the whereabouts of the accused in this case, were felicitated and given rewards. The SP asked the public to cooperate with the police in preventing thefts and provide information about the suspects. The SP warned that legal action will be taken against such people if they commit crimes habitually.
