NOB-Tirupati news: On 17.02.2026, on the orders of the Tirupati District SP L. Subbaraidu IPS., , the Traffic Police conducted special Drunk and Drive Checks in Tirupati town under the supervision of the Tirupati Traffic DSP with the aim of reducing road accidents. In these checks, 10 Drunk and Drive cases were registered against motorists who drove their vehicles while drunk, as well as 03 cases against motorists who obstructed traffic. The 1^st Special Judicial Magistrate Court, Tirupati, after investigation, imposed a fine of Rs.10,000/- each for a total of Rs.1,00,000/-. Also, 03 people who disrupted traffic were fined Rs.500/- each, totalling Rs.1,500/-.People should follow traffic rules, driving under the influence of alcohol is a crime under the law. There is a risk of harm not only to your life but also to the lives of others. Tirupati Traffic Police has appealed to the people to take note of this and cooperate by following traffic rules.
