NOB-Shadnagar news: The manner in which a high-ranking official whose primary duty is to safeguard public health is exploiting her official position to expand her own private business empire has now become a sensational topic of discussion within the Shadnagar constituency. Widespread criticism is being leveled against the conduct of the District Deputy Medical and Health Officer (Deputy DM&HO), DR. Vijayalakshmi. Allegations are mounting that she is brazenly flouting government rules and regulations, drawing a salary amounting to lakhs of rupees without ever attending to her official duties, while working tirelessly day and night solely for the growth of her own private hospitals. Evidence has surfaced revealing that she has remained absent from her official duties for months on end, leaving the relevant entries in the duty attendance register completely blank rather than signing them. However whether out of fear of inspections by higher authorities or to fraudulently draw her salary it appears that she recently filled in month’s worth of signatures in the attendance register in a single day. This clearly indicates that she is not physically attending to her duties but is merely performing her job “on paper.” Furthermore, there are allegations that, in some instances, she is even having lower-ranking employees sign the register on her behalf. On February 26th 2026, while participating in the inauguration of the ‘Sarada Fertility Center’ in Shadnagar, she appeared to completely forget her status as a government official her act of openly promoting a private hospital before the media has caused widespread astonishment. Her remarks such as, “Please write positive things about our hospital and ensure that patients come here” are currently going viral on social media. The fact that she signs the attendance register to indicate she is on government duty, yet simultaneously participates in private hospital events, stands as clear evidence of her dual standards. According to the Civil Services Conduct Rules, no government official is permitted to serve as a brand ambassador for private organizations. However, DR. Vijayalakshmi is openly engaging in self-promotion by printing her photograph on posters for medical camps organized on behalf of her own establishment, ‘Vijaya Hospital.’ The public is outraged that she a district-level official whose duty it is to monitor private hospitals is herself flagrantly violating these very regulations. Harassment of Staff, Abetting Irregularities! Allegations abound that she who is duty bound to take action against the fake laboratories and unqualified hospitals operating within the constituency is instead turning a blind eye to these irregularities, seemingly intoxicated by the allure of kickbacks. Reports suggest that she harasses subordinate staff who refuse to toe her line, subjecting them to punitive deputations and intimidating them with threats of transfers to distant locations. The fact that she stations another doctor in her place of duty while she herself remains engrossed in private practice stands as the epitome of her abuse of authority. The public is now demanding that high-ranking officials of the Medical and Health Department, along with the District Collector, intervene immediately they urge for a comprehensive inquiry into the matter and the immediate suspension of DR. Vijayalakshmi, who is accused of gross negligence in her duties and the misappropriation of public funds.
