NOB_KAMAREDDY: In a moving example of compassion in public service, District Collector Kamareddy Ashish Sangwan demonstrated a deeply human approach to governance.The Collector personally noticed a homeless man with apparent mental health distress wandering on the roadside. Responding immediately, he directed the District Welfare Officer to extend urgent care and support.What began as a simple act of concern soon turned into a life-changing intervention. Under the supervision of welfare authorities, the staff of a government old age home took the individual into their care, providing him with food, hygiene support, and medical attention.The man, who hails from Jagtial district, was given continuous care, medical evaluation, and rehabilitation support. Efforts were made to restore his health and dignity, offering him not just treatment, but a renewed sense of life.Upon tracing his identity, the family was informed and they met the District Collector in his chamber, overwhelmed with emotion. After 25 long years, they were reunited with their loved one. Expressing heartfelt gratitude, the family praised the Collector’s humanity and timely intervention that made this reunion possible.This incident stands as a powerful reminder that governance is not only about administration, but also about empathy, responsibility, and the ability to restore hope in people’s lives.
