
NOB- Tamil Nadu news: A fire broke out in a private hospital in Dindigul district. Seven people, including three women, were burnt alive in the incident. It is said that about 20 people were injured. The fire broke out at a hospital in Gandhi Nagar area near the Dindigul-Tiruchi highway around 8.30 pm on 12.12.2024. Upon receiving information, the police and fire personnel rushed to the spot and took up rescue operations. The fire personnel rescued 32 people in the hospital. The fire was controlled with fire engines to douse the fire in the hospital. Six people were trapped in the lift of the hospital in the accident. It is reported that they suffocated and died of burns. It is said that a 3-year-old boy was also among the dead. More than 50 ambulances, including government and private ambulances, were called and the patients admitted to the hospital were shifted to other hospitals. After it was learned that a fire had broken out in the private Bone Hospital, Dindigul District Collector Boongodi, RTO Shakthivel, Deputy Mayor Rajappa and others reached the spot and supervised the rescue operations. Many patients have been rescued and admitted to nearby government and private hospitals. The Collector said that some casualties may occur. However, the District Collector revealed that the death toll will be confirmed only after the doctors confirm.
