NOB- Nirmal news: An incident involving the apprehension of a Sub-Inspector (SI) by ACB officials for demanding a bribe of Rs 40,000 in connection with a cheating case took place on 26.03.2026 at the Mamada Police Station in Nirmal district. According to Adilabad ACB DSP G. Madhu, the details of the case are as follows, Ashok, who was serving as the SI of Mamada, demanded a bribe of Rs 40,000 to refrain from registering a cheating case. Following subsequent negotiations, a settlement was reached at Rs. 20,000. Consequently, the victim lodged a complaint with the ACB officials acting upon a trap laid by the officials, the SI was caught red-handed while accepting the bribe from the victim. He was taken into custody, subjected to interrogation, and subsequently produced before the Karimnagar Court. Given that there are numerous allegations of corruption against this SI, residents of the local villages are demanding that higher authorities impose severe punishment upon him.
