NOB-Mulugu news: Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) officials conducted a surprise raid at the District Educational Officer (DEO) office in Mulugu district headquarters on 16.06.2025 and caught District Education Officer Panini and a senior assistant red-handed while taking a bribe of Rs. 20,000. It is learnt that these officials demanded a bribe when a teacher working in Lakshmipuram, Kannaigudem mandal, had completed sick leave and sought a joining order for re-posting. Based on the complaint of the victim teacher, ACB officials conducted a secret operation and arrested DEO Panini and a senior assistant while taking a bribe. This operation was conducted under the leadership of Mulugu ACB DSP Sambaiah. Currently, two officials have been detained and are being interrogated. The incident has created a stir in the district education department. It has become a topic of discussion locally as the bribery case has come to light. ACB officials are conducting a deeper investigation into the case.
