NOB- Suryapet news: Parents from a village under Atmakur (S) mandal filed a complaint at Atmakur (S) Police Station on 2/4/2021 alleging that their 16-year-old daughter was sexually assaulted. After conducting a preliminary investigation on the complaint, it was found that the minor girl was the victim and a case was registered under the POCSO Act under crime number 61/2021. As part of the investigation, a 40-year-old man named Gunja Venkanna from the same village was identified as the perpetrator of the crime and was added as an accused. The then investigating officer DSP Mohan Kumar conducted the case and filed the criminal chargesheet in the court. After examining 12 witnesses and the victims, the 1st Additional Sessions District Court Judge, Justice Smt. Shyam Sri, found the accused guilty and sentenced him to 31 years in prison and a fine of Rs 30,000. If you commit a crime, there is no escape from punishment, laws have been strengthened to protect minor girls, the investigation is being carried out quickly, the police are providing all legal, medical, educational and moral advice through the Bharosa Center. If you commit a crime, you have to spend your life in jail, said SP Sunpreet Singh IPS. The SP congratulated PP K. Ramireddy, Liaison Officer HC Srikanth, Court Constable Venkateshwarlu, and the current officers DSP Ravi, CI Rajasekhar, and SI Srikanth who supervised the case.
