NOB- Health news: The World Health Organization (WHO) has recently warned that the world is facing another pandemic threat. WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus revealed that this is inevitable and can happen at any time. Therefore, he advised to be prepared. He made these comments at the WHO Pandemic Agreement meeting held in Geneva. Speaking, Tedros reminded the world of the damage caused by the Covid-19 pandemic. He said that another pandemic will not stop until the situation improves. He said that it could come after 20 years or tomorrow. But, he called for it to definitely come and he called for it to be prepared. Tedros said that this is not a theoretical risk, but an epidemiological certainty. He said that many people have died due to Covid, and also the global economy has suffered huge losses. We have all seen the devastation caused by the Covid-19 pandemic. Although officially 7 million people have lost their lives. In reality, we estimate that the number is 20 million. In addition to the loss of lives, it has caused more than 10 trillion dollars in damage to the global economy. The 1918 flu pandemic killed 50 million people. This is twice as much as Corona,’ said Tedros. He expressed hope that a consensus would be reached among member states on the pandemic agreement. The world needs a strong signal of coming together for a common goal. This agreement will not infringe on the sovereignty of any single country in any way. It will strengthen national sovereignty and international action, Tedros assured. The WHO chief stated that if everyone is united, the pandemic can be fought. He suggested that the world’s nations should be prepared to face the coming threat.
