NOB-Basara news: A IIIT student in Basara committed suicide on 25.02.2026. She was alone in a room in the hostel when all her fellow students had gone to classes. Her fellow students saw her committing suicide and informed the college staff. They filed a complaint with the police. The police seized the body and shifted it to a government hospital for postmortem. The police have registered a case and are investigating Vasantha’s suicide. The police have informed the student’s parents about the death. The police said that the deceased was studying in the third year of engineering. Vasantha’s friends were questioned as part of the investigation into the case. She said that she was fine since this morning. She told them that she would not be able to come to class on 25.02.2026 because she was feeling a little unwell. With this, the fellow students told the police that they all went to class by leaving her in her hostel room.
