
NOB-Nirmal news: The sacred Sri Gnana Saraswathi Temple in Basara is set for comprehensive development, with Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy reviewing the Master Plan and emphasizing that all works must strictly adhere to Agama Shastra (traditional scriptural guidelines) while fully respecting the religious sentiments of devotees. The government is undertaking the development of the temple, located on the banks of the Godavari River in Nirmal district, at an estimated cost of Rs.225 crore. Officials presented the details of the Master Plan, following which the Chief Minister offered key suggestions. He is scheduled to lay the foundation stone for these development works on the 06.04.2026. The Chief Minister directed officials to ensure the development of wide and well-planned roads to accommodate future needs and effectively manage the growing influx of devotees. He stressed that the temple’s development should be carried out in a grand and thoughtful manner, without affecting the faith and sentiments of devotees, and instructed that strict regulations be enforced to preserve the sanctity of the temple premises. Drawing parallels with the Tirumala Tirupati model, the Chief Minister called for clear guidelines to keep temple surroundings free from political activities and suggested restricting movement within the premises to electric vehicles (EVs). The review meeting was attended by Minister Konda Surekha, Government Advisor Sudarshan Reddy, MP Vem Narender Reddy, Chief Secretary Ramakrishna Rao, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Srinivasa Raju, Principal Secretary, Endowments Department, Sailaja Ramaiyer, and other senior officials.
