Immediately alerted, the police inspected the respective areas thoroughly. Earlier, a stranger called the Vijayawada control room around 9.30 am on 24.05.2025 and threatened that a bomb had been planted in the LIC building on Besant Road. Alerted, the police formed four teams along with the bomb squad and carried out intensive checks on Besant Road from Bandar Road to Eluru Road. Shops and carts on Besant Road were thoroughly checked. People and officials breathed a sigh of relief as there were no signs of a bomb anywhere. As it turned out to be a fake call, businesses on Besant Road were allowed to operate from noon. Shortly after that, a bomb threat call was also received at Vijayawada Railway Station. Alerted by a phone call in Hindi claiming to be from Pakistan, the GRP, CSW and bomb squad teams conducted extensive checks at the railway station.
