Caste census across India

NOB-Bharat news: The Modi government has taken a key decision to conduct a caste census across India. In a meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Political Affairs held on 30.04.2025, it was decided to conduct a caste census along with the population census. The Congress party, which had announced that it would conduct a re-count after the caste census errors in Telangana and Karnataka, has been criticized for ignoring this issue for decades when they were in power. But this decision taken by the Modi government is being welcomed by BCs, SCs, STs and all castes across the country. Stating that this caste census will accelerate ‘inclusive growth’, it has been learned that the central government will start the population and caste census in September 2025 and complete it in two years. On this occasion, a portrait of Prime Minister Narendra Modi was anointed with oil under the Bharatiya Janata Party city president Nagula Srinivas. Srinivas, Vemula Posetti, Nalgonda Saichand, Bhagaiah, Aadepu Venumadhav, Chiluka Srikanth Karne Ganesh, and Bharatiya Janata Party leaders and activists participated.
