NOB- Vijayawada news:As it is the second Friday of Shravan month, Vijayawada is thronged with Indrakiladri devotees. Devotees flocked to see the goddess. On the occasion of Shravan Friday, the temple authorities conducted special kumkumarchans for the goddess. Also, the temple priests performed 31 types of special pujas to Durgamma. Devoted crowds were observed early in the morning of temple Evo Bhramaramba. Meanwhile, on September 8th (fourth Friday), a mass Varalakshmi Vrat will be conducted free of charge.

Shravanamasam, named after Shri Mahavishnu’s birth star Shravana, is very dear to Goddess Lakshmi, wife of Lord Mahavishnu. Devotees believe that Lakshmi blessings will be achieved by the vratas and pujas performed during the month of Shravana. Women observe Varalakshmi Vrata on the second Friday of Shravana month. By worshiping Mahalakshmi in the month of Shravana, devotees believe that they will be blessed with wealth ,health and prosperity.
