A father, under the influence of alcohol, poisoned his three young children and then committed suicide, causing a major stir. This unexpected incident, which completely shattered the family, has shocked the locals. This stands as an example of how, in a moment of anger and due to mental stress, people can turn into beasts and commit heinous acts. In Thodumuladinne village of Uyyalawada mandal in Nandyal district, a father who should have protected his children turned into a harbinger of death. Vemulapati Surendra (34) committed this horrific act due to mental stress. He attacked and killed his children while under the influence of alcohol, police initially believe that he then took his own life. The fact that no one else was home at the time of the incident made the situation even more tragic. The children who lost their lives at the hands of their father were Kavya (7 years old), Dnyaneshwari (4 years old), and Surya Gagan (2 years old). The entire village is plunged into sorrow due to the death of these three young children. The sudden destruction of the children’s future and dreams is bringing tears to everyone’s eyes. The children’s mother had committed suicide due to illness about 8 months ago. Locals say that since then, Surendra had been mentally depressed due to loneliness, financial difficulties, and family conflicts. The opinion is being expressed that a lack of proper psychological support might have led to this tragedy. Upon receiving information about the incident, the police immediately reached the scene, shifted the bodies to the hospital for post-mortem examination, registered a case, and started an investigation.
