NOB-Hyderabad news: In the case of a mass suicide of three people in Amberpet police station limits, the Secunderabad Zone Police on 02.03.2026 arrested four illegal moneylenders who caused the death of a victims by harassing them for debt collection.

Case details: The case came to light on February 24, 2026 at 12:00 noon on the complaint of the victim Mrs. Kadgekar Amulya. She complained that her father Kadgekar Ramraj (54), mother Mrs. Madhavi, and younger brother Kadgekar Shashank Raj were found dead in their residence in Bapu Nagar. The father and younger brother were hanging from a fan in different rooms, while the mother was dead on the bed. Initially, this case was registered under Section 194 BNSS, the cause of death was revealed to be harassment by moneylenders based on suicide notes found at the scene.

Reasons for abetment to suicide: The deceased had taken a loan of about Rs. 57 lakhs to run “King’s Biryani” hotels in Mallapur and Chakripuram. The accused illegally charged exorbitant interest on the same and committed the following harassments:

* Demanding unlimited and illegal interest.

* Forcibly taking possession of blank cheques, promissory notes, MOUs and original land deeds.

* Constantly insulting and threatening them over phone.

* Threatening to come to the house and publicly defame them.

* It was confirmed through the call data records (CDR) that the accused had also called and given serious warnings the night before the suicide. With this, the case was shifted to Section 108 BNS (Abetment to suicide).

Accused Details: Based on reliable information, the following accused were arrested on 02.03.2026:

1. A-1: ​​Mohammad Wasi Uz Zaman @ Irfan (57 years) – Real Estate & Scrap Business, Maulali.

2. A-2: P. Rajasekhara Reddy (55 years) – Construction Sector, Maulali.

3. A-3: Mohammad Nawaz (50 years) – Business, Old Safilguda.

4. A-4: Syed Majeed Haider (53 years) – Electrician, Maulali.

Items seized: The police have recovered the following items from the accused:

* 12 blank cheques signed by the deceased.

* 6 blank promissory notes.

* 3 Memorandum of Understanding (MOUs) and loan agreements.

* Original documents of 3 acres of agricultural land in Gandhimal village, Yadadri Bhuvanagiri district.

* Mobile phones used to threaten the deceased.

The accused were produced before the Court and sent to judicial custody for inciting the family to commit suicide by causing continuous harassment and mental anguish. This operation was effectively conducted under the supervision of Smt. Rakshita Krishnamurthy, IPS (DCP, Secunderabad Zone), Additional DCP J. Narasaiah, ACP G. Jagan, Inspector T. Kiran Kumar, Detective Inspector Mohammad Hafeezuddin and staff.
