
NOB-Warangal news: Warangal Police Commissioner Sunpreet Singh said that if the drivers have good eyesight, we can reduce road accidents. In the second phase of ‘Arrive Alive’, which is ambitiously undertaken by the state government with the main objective of preventing road accidents, a free eye medical check-up camp was organized for auto drivers at Venkateswara Kalyana Mandapam on Mulugu Road under the Warangal Traffic Police. The camp, organized in collaboration with the local Regional Eye Hospital, Sharath Eye Hospital and Kirti Hospital, was inaugurated by the Warangal Police Commissioner as the chief guest. Over four hundred auto drivers underwent eye tests at this camp and over three hundred drivers were given eyeglasses. Speaking on the occasion, the Police Commissioner said that the Chief Minister of the state had launched ‘Arrive Alive’ with the aim of ensuring that every motorist reaches their destinations safely and that the role of drivers is crucial in road safety, especially as eyesight deteriorates with age, especially drivers of passenger vehicles that transport people should take more care of their eyesight, and that it is the responsibility of drivers to safely transport passengers traveling in public transport vehicles to their destinations, especially those with poor eyesight who are at high risk of road accidents while driving, and that it is also good for drivers to undergo regular eye tests to prevent road accidents. Similarly, if their eyesight is good, they can drive safely by recognizing traffic signals and road signs, the Police Commissioner informed. Later, the Police Commissioner handed over eyeglasses to the auto drivers. Central Zone DCP Dara Kavitha, Traffic Additional DCP Prabhakar Rao, ACPs Satyanarayana, Narasimha Rao, Traffic Inspectors Sujatha, Seetha Reddy, Venkanna, Mattewada Inspector Karunakar, Doctors Sridevi, Dr. Dilip, Ranjan Kumar and their staff participated in this program.
