NOB-Hyderabad news: In a landmark initiative, Governor of Telangana Jishnu Dev Varma launched the “GI on Wheels” programme at MGBS, Hyderabad, in the presence of Transport & BC Welfare Minister Ponnam Prabhakar. Specially designed TGSRTC buses showcasing Telangana’s GI-tagged handicrafts such as Pochampally Ikat, Warangal Dhurries, Karimnagar Silver Filigree, Narayanpet Sarees, Cheriyal Scroll Paintings and Nirmal Paintings which were flagged off to carry the State’s rich cultural heritage across towns and villages. The initiative seeks to promote GI products, support artisans and strengthen Telangana’s cultural identity. TGSRTC Vice Chairman & MD Nagi Reddy, Hyderabad District Collector Smt. Hari Chandana Dasari and senior officials were present.
