
NOB- Hyderabad news: Gunfire caused panic on Bank Street in Koti, Hyderabad. On 31.01.2026 morning, a man who had come to deposit money at an ATM near the SBI head office was shot, and approximately Rs. 6 lakhs were stolen. Rashid, a cloth merchant from Nampally, arrived at the SBI bank ATM at 7 AM with a bag containing Rs. 6 lakhs in cash to deposit. Some miscreants, noticing Rashid with the money, attempted to snatch the bag from him. When Rashid resisted, they shot him and made off with the bag of money. Rashid sustained a bullet wound to his leg in the incident. Upon receiving information about the shooting, the police arrived at the scene and conducted an investigation. Rashid was shifted to Osmania Hospital for treatment. The police have registered a case and are examining CCTV footage to trace the culprits. DCP Shilpavalli commented on the incident, stating that the clues team has already collected preliminary details. She said it was unfortunate that the incident occurred in a crowded area. She mentioned that they received a call about the incident between 6:30 AM and 7:00 AM and immediately became alert. She added that five teams have been deployed to search for the culprits and asserted that the perpetrators would not be able to escape.
