NOB- Washington DC news: A jet plane and a helicopter carrying 64 passengers collided with each other. They later crashed into the Potomac River. There is no clear information on how many people died in the accident. However, the bodies of 28 passengers have been recovered from the Potomac River so far. Rescue operations are still ongoing. At around 8.30 pm on 29.01.2025, a US Department of Defense helicopter collided with a US Department of Defense helicopter as it was preparing to land on the runway of Ronald Reagan Airport near Washington. However, American Airlines revealed that there were 60 passengers and four crew members on board the plane at the time of the accident. Senior Defense Department officials also clarified that there were three soldiers in the helicopter. Upon receiving information about the accident, officials and rescue personnel immediately reached the scene and took up rescue operations. The search for passengers in the river was ongoing. Officials say the death toll in the incident is likely to rise further.
