This is the 101st<\/sup> mission for ISRO. Through this, ISRO plans to send the next-generation Earth observation satellite EOS-09 (RISAT-1B) into space by means of the PSLV-C61 rocket. This satellite weighs 1,696.24 kg. Its lifespan is five years. It will take high-resolution images of the Earth’s surface in all weather conditions. It will provide day and night imaging for national security, agriculture, forest monitoring, disaster management, urban planning, etc., EOS-09 will also join the group of Earth observation satellites with the aim of addressing the need for real-time coverage across the country. It is the successor to the RISAT-1 satellite. It will collect and transmit data to the Earth like the ResourceSat, Cartosat and RISAT-2B series satellites. EOS-09 was designed by ISRO as a replacement for the EOS-04 satellite launched in 2022.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
