NOB_GUNTUR: Lalapet Police have achieved a breakthrough in a 4 year old girl’s kidnapping case.

East DSP T. Seetharam said that on September 17, 2026, Battula Kondamma (65), a resident of Saibaba Colony, complained that her granddaughter Sai Pallavi (4) was kidnapped.

Under the supervision of Lalapet CI Prasad, Crime staff Shankaru and Kiran started investigation and conducted thorough searches at Guntur Bus Stand, Vijayawada Railway Station and other crowded places.

Police traced the girl to Bapatla with the help of RTGS 360 degree cameras. Acting on information that the girl was at Bapatla Railway Station, police rescued her with the help of RPF staff.

The accused was identified as Manoj Kumar, maternal uncle of the girl, and his wife Shaik Sumayya who aided him. Both have been arrested.

The girl has been safely handed over to her grandmother. Family members thanked police for their swift action and use of technology.
