NOB-Bharat news: Two theft incidents have gone viral in the country. Among them, a chain around a woman MP’s neck was stolen in the national capital Delhi. The other incident is the theft of Telangana Minister Tummala Nageswar Rao’s cell phone. Telangana Agriculture Minister Tummala Nageswar Rao, who was participating in a ration card distribution program in Kesavapatnam, Karimnagar district, was hit by someone in the crowd. While returning home, Minister Tummala realized that his phone was missing in the vehicle and called his personal staff and the police to find out where the phone had gone. With this, the police, who conducted an investigation on the incident, found the stolen cell phone of Minister Tummala within an hour based on the location. The police, who found that a woman had the phone with her, questioned her and seized the phone and returned it to the minister. Congress leader and Member of Parliament Sudha Ramakrishnan, who was taking a morning walk on the streets of Delhi’s Chanakyapuri, was attacked by chain snatchers. She filed a complaint with the police on 04.08.2025. According to the details given by the MP in her complaint, Sudha Ramakrishnan, MP from Mayiladuthurai parliamentary constituency in Tamil Nadu, was taking a morning walk near the Polish Embassy in Chanakyapuri on 04.08.2025 morning along with her state’s DMK leader Rajathi. At that time, a man wearing a helmet came from the opposite direction on a scooty and snatched the chain from her neck and fled. The MP suffered injuries on her neck as he pulled the chain forcefully and her dress was also slightly torn. Even though MP Sudha immediately screamed for help, the thief had already fled from the spot. After some time, a police patrol vehicle reached the area and she complained to them about the theft incident. Sudha Ramakrishnan is currently in Delhi as the monsoon session of Parliament is underway. It is noteworthy that Chanakyapuri, where the theft incident took place, is home to embassies of several countries and official buildings belonging to state governments.
